Re:Twilight Soul has a pretty interesting past. If you're interested, keep reading.

...

Silvyria

It all started out when Taro (owner) wanted to make an online RPG. He had discovered various different programs that would help him, until he decided the one he liked was known as "Eclipse." He didn't have any experience, but tutorials helped him out with basic things. He mapped a small game, no more than 30 maps in size, and named it "Silvyria." There was no advertising done for it, and there weren't many future plans. The game only was up for a week or so, and him and a few friends played it together.

Pre-KHO

Realizing his game would get nowhere, Taro wanted to make a game that would get the attention of lots of people, but he didn't know a very good way of doing it. After some thought, he realized a fan game would be a good option, because fans of a series might like to play an online game of it. Thinking of different game series', Kingdom Hearts popped into his head. It seemed easy to implement into an online RPG. So, he went to work, gathering graphics, and making some custom ones, and turning it into an online game - he called it "Kingdom Hearts Online" which was abbreviated as "KHO."

KHO

Taro started working on KHO. He set up a website and forum for it, and did some advertising. Taro was known as "Vivin" at the time. After the game got some attention and people signed up on the forums, he got ready for the beta version. On July 19, 2008, Vivin announced sign-ups for beta testing, where 12 members would get to try the game. The sign-up sheet filled up very quickly. On July 22, 2008, beta was released to the 12 members.

A few months later, Vivin released the first official version of KHO. The game wasn't populated too much. The highest amount of members online at once was around six, but on average there were two or three. Not too much happened on the forums, aside from a few dedicated members who visited every day. KHO's graphics and maps were very messy and glitchy. After all, it was Vivin's second game and he had almost no experience. However, the members who played enjoyed it.

Several months later, after the game got more populated, two new members joined: Atsuya and Shricx. Atsuya became the first staff member of KHO, and Shricx became the first moderator. Eventually, Vivin and Atsuya began talking about remaking KHO together, to fix all of the problems in it and give it better graphics. They began, and a new game went into progress, with KHO ending at version 1.

At the time, Vivin and Atsuya were just going to remake KHO and rerelease it. However, after seeing how different it was from KHO, they decided to change more than just the game. They created a new forum for the game, and renamed the game to "Twilight Soul", or TS.

Twilight Soul is when the game truly began. This is when lots of members started to join, and a true community was formed. The forums were active and lots of people logged onto the game. At times, there were 20 or more people online. And during this time, TS was only in beta. Vivin and Atsuya made the beta available to everyone who joined, and kept it online the whole time as they worked.

Vivin went through many name changes, and is now known as Taro. He added more members onto the staff team. There were new mappers, moderators, and developers, all who helped work on TS. Game progress went much faster.

So much more happened in Twilight Soul that there is too much to write down. However, it did go through 3 episodes (versions.) The entire game was completed. It featured almost every world from KH1 and KH2, along with many other custom areas for fun. The game file was very large and there wasn't much left to do. Until, Taro found a new version of Eclipse. This engine was improved in every way possible, and the staff members seemed to like it to. This is when the next phase of Twilight Soul began. A remake.

 Re:Twilight Soul

Here we are, at Re:Twilight Soul. The "Re:" was taken from other Kingdom Hearts game remakes, such as Re:Chain of Memories and Re:Coded. Just like Twilight Soul was a remake of Kingdom Hearts Online, Re:Twilight Soul is a remake of Twilight Soul. And this time, there are even more improvements.

It feels like an entirely new game, and it has only just begun. This game has come a very long way, starting in 2008 with the KHO beta up until now. It has been almost three years, and this game is still alive and populated. Who knows where the game will go from here?

...

That's it for the history of this game. Did you enjoy reading what this game has gone through the past three years? It's been fun, and it will get even better.
